THE Saint Boniface Concert Society regretted the recent postponement of its opening concert on Sunday, May 15, due to unforeseen circumstances. This was to have been the much-anticipated recital by local guitarist David Cottam.

The remaining four concerts planned for the season will be a great delight and are as follows:

Thursday, June 2, 7.30pm: Bella Tromba - brass quartet with a programme to celebrate HM the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee:

Monteverdi, Telemann, John Bull, Orlando Gibbons, Vaughan-Williams, Peter Maxwell Davies, Benjamin Britten, Imogen Holst, Tchaikovsky, Clara Schumann, Parry, Thomas Arne and Elgar.

Thursday, June 23, 7.30pm - Dominic Degavino (solo pianoforte): Beethoven: Sonata in C major Op.2/No. 3; Amy Beach: Five improvisations Op.148; Schubert: Allegretto in C minor D.915 and Brahms: Sonata no. 3 in F minor op.5.

Sunday, July 17, 3pm - The Gesualdo Six - award-winning British vocal ensemble comprising some of the UK’s finest consort singers, directed by Owain Park. Praised for their imaginative programming and impeccable blend.

Thursday, September 8, 7.30pm - The Gildas Quartet - a return of the outstanding young quartet who played at Crediton Parish Church in 2018.

All concerts are at Crediton Parish Church.

Tickets are priced at £14 for adults, (children and students in full-time education under 30, free) available in person at A.E. Lee, High Street, Crediton and online from TicketSource, or on the door.

The Society looks forward to seeing everyone at the concerts.
