LOCAL authors Mark and Tracey Norman will speak about their latest books on British folklore and witches in Victorian and Edwardian Devon at Crediton bookshop The Bookery on Thursday, October 16.

Mr Norman’s “Britain’s Folklore Year” explores traditional British customs, celebrations and rituals such as maypole dancing, worm-charming, wassailing, wife-carrying and more.

Mr and Mrs Norman’s “Devon’s Forgotten Witches 1860–1910” draws on original press reports and historical context to uncover cases of witchcraft in the Victorian and Edwardian eras in Devon.

The event will begin at 7pm. The authors will be signing copies of both books.

Tickets cost £5 and can be purchased at The Bookery or online by visiting: thebookery.org.uk.
