A CREDITON man and his 14-year-old son are to take up the challenge of walking on hot coals in Crediton Town Square in aid of charity on Saturday, October 4.

Ian Cann, who has lived in the town for more than 40 years, said that he and his son Dylan have agreed to take part in the Lions Club of Crediton Firewalk. They welcome sponsorship.

Lion Peter Bryan said Firewalk participants receive training before taking part.

Last year 19 people took part and were watched by a large crowd.

It will take place from 6pm to 9pm and all invited to go along and watch.
