THE Portrait Players will perform at the next Saint Boniface Concert in Crediton Parish Church on Sunday, June 29 from 3pm.

The all-female trio features Claire Ward (soprano), Kristiina Watt (theorbo/lute) and Miriam Nohl (cello/viola da gamba). They will be presenting a concert entitled “The New Lyre – Songs by 17th Century Italian Women, and works by Monteverdi”.

This intriguing baroque trio made its debut at St Martin-in-the-Fields in autumn 2023 in a recital hosted by City Music Foundation.

Since then, they have performed to acclaim in numerous festivals and concert series, including Brighton Early Music Festival, Amersham Festival, Surrey Hills International Music Festival, Barts’ Great Hall (London), Oxford University, and The Workshop Series in Lewes. They have collaborated with Opera Prelude in London and Henley, and have forthcoming engagements at Handel Hendrix House, London and Stoller Hall, Manchester.

This concert is supported by the Philip and Dorothy Green Young Artists Trust. We have a very interesting and enjoyable afternoon in prospect.

Tickets are available from A E Lee Outfitters, High Street, Crediton, online: ticketsource.co.uk , or on the door, subject to availability. The price is £15 per concert, FREE to full time students under 30. Refreshments will be on offer at the concert. Crediton Parish Church has parking available, as well as disabled access.
