CHRISTIANS Together in Crediton will hold a picnic this weekend.
The Picnic in the Park event will take place from 12pm on Sunday, May 19 in Newcombes Meadow, or in the Boniface Centre next to Crediton Parish Church if it rains.
Everyone is welcome to go along with a picnic.
The event has been organised by Christians Together in Crediton to celebrate the “Week of Prayer for Christian Unity”.
Usually observed in January, some areas mark between Ascension Day and Pentecost.
Good Friday this year saw Christians Together in Crediton’s annual Walk of Witness through the town.
It began at St Boniface Roman Catholic Church and ended at Crediton Congregational Church. Afterwards tea or coffee and hot cross buns were served.
The tradition, believed to have started in 1977, involves acts of worship and a volunteer carrying a large wooden cross to each of the churches in Crediton.
