A LIVELY, full house attended a varied and enjoyable musical evening at Morchard Bishop Memorial Hall on Friday, October 6.
Rather like the old fashioned variety show, there were performances of all kinds. The Morchard and Dolton Community Choir, around 50 in number, sang numbers we all know and some we did not.
A David Bowie song for multiple voices was received with enormous pleasure.
The classical guitarist, David Cottam, played some lovely pieces in complete contrast, and Mike Squire, whom we haven’t heard from in quite a while, sang two lovely songs.
Banjo Brian regaled us with songs we all knew and joined in with. In a surprise addition to the programme, a young teenager from Morchard Bishop, utterly charmed us with her voice and her guitar with a personal composition. We look forward to hearing more from her.
It was a wonderful way to spend an evening together and it also contributed to our hall funds.
