UPDATE: THE fault has been fixed and trains are operating as normal.

----------

TRAINS between Exeter and Barnstaple via Crediton may be cancelled this morning, Tuesday, October 21, due to a fault with the barriers at Eggesford level crossing.

Fewer trains are able to run on the line and disruption is expected until 10am, Great Western Railway said.

“During this disruption, if you wish to use local buses as an alternative means of transport and the local bus is not accepting GWR tickets, please purchase a ticket on the bus, keep it and send it, together with your train ticket, to us to claim for a refund,” a GWR spokesperson said.

“If you arrive at your destination 15 or more minutes late because your GWR train was delayed or cancelled, you can apply for Delay Repay compensation. Please keep your ticket and visit GWR.com/DelayRepay.”

Further updates as we have them.
