CREDITON Police, with assistance from specialist colleagues from Exeter and local student Officers, executed two Misuse of Drugs Act Warrants at addresses in Crediton on Monday, February 10.

The first property in Queen Elizabeth Drive, Crediton was not occupied at the time of the visit but Police seized a safe which, when later opened, was found to contain a quantity of cannabis with a street value in the region of £400.

Two occupants of the premises have been dealt with by Police for the possession of this illegal drug. The second address visited was that of a local 44 year old man in Downeshead Lane, Crediton.

At the time of the warrant the man was already on bail for a previous charge of possessing cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply.

During the warrant Police found cannabis at the address and the man was arrested and later charged with possession of cannabis.

He has now been convicted of both offences, at Exeter Magistrates Court, where he will return in March for sentencing.
