AT noon today, (November 30), I parked my Motability car in a “Disabled” space in Market Street, Crediton.
When I returned to it about 12.30pm I found damage to the offside front corner. It had been heavily scraped by a very dirty, possibly white or silver highish vehicle which must now be sporting bright blue streaks where the paint has been removed from my car.
Whoever did it was long gone and obviously has no conscience, nor care for their own or anyone else’s vehicle. They must be well-aware of the contact with my vehicle, but chose to ignore it.
Maybe they consider the incident trivial, but for me, disabled and on benefit it is far from trivial.
It will cost me a considerable sum to have the repair done, Motability insurance carries an excess which I have to pay.
It also means that when the Motability lease expires my car will not qualify for the “Good condition bonus”, which, as I look after my car, is always a welcome help towards arranging the next lease.
So, three weeks or so before Christmas, thank you to the person responsible, for making things harder for me. I would like to think your conscience would keep you awake, but I doubt it.
If anyone saw the incident, please contact me through the Courier.
