THIS month Epilepsy Action launched “Walk 50 Miles in February" and a Crediton woman is enjoying taking part.

Debbie Keast explained: "I was very eager with hundreds of others to take part, as from the age of 16 I have had Photosensitive Epilepsy.

"At times it made life slightly more challenging but raising money for a wonderful charity like this enables those with the condition and their families to find the support that is needed as it’s so diverse and presents itself very differently from patient to patient.

"Around 87 people are diagnosed every day, yet it’s not always understood or talked about freely so it seems more important not only to raise money but to raise awareness too.

"I have launched a fundraising page on Facebook (please find me if you would like to contribute) and am so proud that my grandchilden Oscar Gregg (6) and Kaitlyn Gregg (3) have been so excited to join Grandma in her efforts.

"I’m pleased and relieved to say that I pushed myself to walk the 50 miles in seven days and now will join the kiddies to boost their miles.

"Thank you everyone for your support and encouragement through donations and generally talking about it which really helps."
