THE next event organised by Exeter Leukaemia Fund’s Crediton Group will be “David’s Walk” on Sunday, September 3.

David Hobbs, a retired maths professor, died in May 2016 following a long battle with leukaemia. He loved walking.

Every September David organised a charity walk for ELF through Shobrooke Park and for the second year members of the Crediton Group are continuing the walk in his name as “David’s Walk”.

Everyone is welcome to go along for the 2pm start at Crediton Football Club, with registration from 1.30pm. The walk is approximately four miles long and dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.

For a donation, there will be cream teas at the clubhouse on return.

Entry is £5 with accompanied children free.

All proceeds will go to ELF which supports the work of the Haematology Centre at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

The Centre treats the regions blood cancer victims, performs bone marrow transplants and conducts research into the causes and treatment of the disease.
