FOR their February meeting, the Crediton and area branch of Devon Senior Voice welcomed one of their members, Cyril Chudley, to speak about The Kirton Photography Group (KPG) - formerly known as The Crediton Digital Photography Group.

Cyril gave a brief history of photography, illustrated with a small box camera, old-style film on a roll and then a modern digital camera with a memory card.

As well as talking about KPG, - which is always open to new members - he displayed a selection of enlarged, mounted photographs that he had taken, and which he was kindly donating 15 per cent of the sale price to our local branch of Devon Senior Voice.

Chair, Carole Towler, thanked Cyril warmly for his interesting talk.

There followed refreshments, after which the committee met for its monthly meeting. This included a lively discussion about Mid Devon District Council’s need to reconsider their policy around assisted recycling collections, in order to address the needs of the towns elderly residents.

The next meeting will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, March 8, at the Meadow Suite, Lords Meadow Leisure Centre, and the speaker will be Cllr Judi Binks who will talk about the Napoleonic Wars.
