CREDITON’S Tesco store at Wellparks will be auctioning off their promotional material from their recent Star Wars displays with all of the proceeds being used to help the stores community work.

After many customers enquired about the items while they were on display a decision was made to make them available to their customers. There are more than 20 items available in the auction.

The store’s Community Champion, Andrew Drayton, thinks it is a great idea and told the Courier: “We have sold off previous popular items of promotional material that we’ve had before but nothing has been as popular as this.

“We have more than 20 individual pieces of varying sizes so that, hopefully, everybody has a chance to get something that they like. We think that a silent auction is the best and fairest way to do this for customers.”

The items go on display for auction this afternoon, Friday, May 13, and bids will be accepted until 4pm on Sunday, May 22.

How To Enter

1) Each item has a number and description. Please put how much you are willing to pay for an item, along with the item number and description on a piece of paper. Do not forget to include a contact telephone number as well.

2) Hand your bid in at the Customer Service Desk. When you have put all of the information needed on a sheet of paper please place it in a sealed envelope and hand it in at the stores Customer Service Desk.

Please write “STAR WARS PROMO AUCTION” on the outside of the envelope. All bids will remain sealed until the auction has closed. Do not include any cash or cheques with your bid.

3) How long does the auction last? The closing date/time for bids is Sunday, May 22 at 4pm. Any bids received after that date will not be considered.

4) The winning bids will be the highest bid submitted for each individual item. As a tip you may want to bid an odd amount, i.e. £5.27 rather than £5. You may bid for more than one item but cannot bid for all items as a bundle.

5) How will I know if I’ve won? All winners will be contacted on Monday, May 23. Non-winners will not be contacted.

Please be available to collect your item on Friday, May 27 at 6pm subject to payment of your winning bid amount.

Winners will be pictured receiving their items in the Crediton Courier.

Andrew continued: “We have been really busy this year with the amount of community work that we have been doing. We have some great plans for the rest of the year, both working with local groups and some events of our own that we want to stage.

“The proceeds from this auction will all go into our community pot to help us achieve these plans, benefitting the Crediton community in and around the town.”
