THREE Year Five students from Landscore Primary School in Crediton have raised an amazing £150 for Cancer Research UK.

The three 10-year-old girls, Abigail Pinn, who drove the project, with Posie Roberts and Kacey Hill, organised their own five-mile charity run around Exeter.

The girls decided to raise money for the charity after one of their grandparents was diagnosed with the disease.

The girls not only planned the event but also printed their own sponsorship forms and trained during their lunch time at the school.

They organised adult supervision for the run and even set up a sponsorship page on “Facebook” to help increase donations.

All three thank Maddie Simpson for her help in designing the run but who could not take part.

The run was completed during the recent half term.

Andy Smith, Head of Landscore Primary School, said: “Well done to all the girls, it was a real achievement.”
