CREDITON Town Crier Kevin Payne officially announced the winners of the Christmas in Crediton "Hattastic" competition, where children from across the Crediton area were asked to make or design a new hat for Santa as part of the Crediton Christmas celebrations.

Announcing the winners, Kevin said: "Thank you all for your wonderful, creative and inventive designs for a new hat for Santa.

"I am delighted to announce the results of the competition as decided by our judges: Rev Matthew Tregenza, Alison Richardson from Crediton Methodist Church and Rivka Jacobs, a milliner from Exeter.

"Special Awards are given to:

"Dalton Hendrick - Age 10 - for his very relevant design for Father Christmas as a key worker.

"Roxanne Halsey - Age 15 - for a beautiful 2D design window display at Once Read.

"Pippins - for their elegant Frozen Crown also on display at Once Read.

"Crediton Scouts Winner - Isaac Olsson

"Hayward’s Winner - Ethan Keyte-Howe

"Landscore School Age Winners -

"Ethan Fryett - Age 4

"Evie Harris - Age 7

"Isabella Ladd - Age 8

"Emilia Wilkie, jointly with Ethan Rogers, both Age 9

"Keelan Payne - Age 10

"And finally our Overall Winners

"Age 5 and under category - Eden Grills, age 2

"Age 6 and over category- Fearne Blake, age 6

Some of the entries of the competition can now be seen in the Crediton High Street shop windows of the premises, formerly Kathea and also at the premises which was formerly Town and Country, by kind permission of the shop owners.
