ON Thursday, August 19, Crediton Town Band members gathered at their weekly rehearsal to pay tribute to Rob Cocking, who for years was the band’s euphonium player but who has now retired from playing.
In recognition of his loyal service, the Band Chairman, James Hatchell, presented Rob with a silver salver and thanked him for his years of service to the band.
During his time with the band, Rob has played across the UK and overseas in Europe at several destinations.
The band is very grateful for all the hard work that Rob has undertaken on behalf of the band and members will certainly miss his playing and companionship.
At the present moment the band is rehearsing on a Thursday evening at R J Tyres premises on the Lords Meadow Industrial Estate.
The band is very grateful to Richard Jones, the proprietor of R J Tyres for allowing the band to use the premises during this very trying Covid virus period.
Those wishing to see the band in performance can do so on Sunday, September 26 in Crediton Town Square from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
The band Christmas Concert is programmed for Thursday, December 16 and the annual Carols in the Square is due to take place on Thursday, December 23 from 7pm to 8pm.
