I UNDERSTAND that the 341 Barnfield/Crediton High Street to the Tesco store at Wellparks circular bus operated by Dartline coaches is to be cut in March 2015. I use this bus on a weekly basis to go from Tesco to my home after a weekly grocery shop. This service drops me from door-to-door which is a great help when I have done a week's grocery shop to be collected from right outside Tescos front door instead of lumping it across the car park and up a flight of stairs to get to a bus stop. The driver, Mark, is also a very happy and friendly chap who makes a bus journey very pleasant. I remember he went to a lot of trouble over the Christmas period to dress up as Father Christmas which was a lot of fun. This service I believe is invaluable to the more elderly and frail members of Crediton who may also have reduced mobility to enable them to go into town and to go to a supermarket. It is not everybody who could afford a taxi to and from the supermarket and they may not have someone to rely on who could run errands for them. If this service were to be stopped it would be a loss to Tesco as they would be a reduced number of customers going through the door. Name and address supplied
