CREDITON Methodist Church was packed with 107 people (and one baby) who all enjoyed a wonderful afternoon on April 2, courtesy of Crediton Singers and under the expert leadership of local piano tutor Tim Matthews.

Poems were read by Rosalind Moseley and Devorah Longford.

Piano pieces were played by Yogoda Radominska and Willem Snowden, both pupils of Tim as well as by Tim himself.

Solos were given by soprano Clare Watson and choir member Barbara Greenwood.

David Greenwood played the Ukrainian National Anthem on the violin, which was very moving. The choir sang a dozen pieces which were all very good and well received.

It was a free concert with a retiring collection. A fantastic afternoon of music and a fantastic amount of £912.11 raised, all of which will be sent to the Red Cross Ukraine Appeal.

Thank you to all the talented musicians for an excellent concert and thank you to the people of Crediton for such generosity.

Another concert for Ukraine will be held at Crediton Methodist Church this coming Saturday, April 9 at 7.30pm – this time by Crediton Town Band.
