After a wet and windy start, made all the more challenging for pitching tents by the rock-hard ground, the weather cleared for the rest of week and the 10 Scouts from Crediton (and their leaders) had a fantastic time!
Leader, Helen Olsson, explains: “We took part in a huge range of activities, including assault courses, watersports, climbing, giant airbag, circus skills, crafts, axe throwing, and live Monopoly, with evenings spent in carnival procession, UV disco and ceilidh, along with more than 500 other Scouts and Explorers.
“We also worked hard looking after our own camp area and had a special mention in the closing ceremony for our recycling efforts.
“The boys enjoyed swapping badges with other groups, particularly the Icelandic Scouts, and were privileged to meet the Chief Scout Commissioner for the UK.
“The Jamboree was an awesome experience and we were really proud of the boys’ enthusiasm and behaviour throughout the week; they were a credit to our Group and to Crediton.”
