CREDITON Town Council (CTC) is seeking the views of residents on the future of water play in Newcombes Meadow.

The current children’s paddling pool adjoining the children’s play area is nearing the end of its operational life, and four options are being considered: replacing it with a similar facility, installing a smaller splash pad, installing an enhanced splash pad, or removing water play from the park altogether.

Funding is available to contribute towards the cost of a new facility, should one be chosen, which could also include the provision of a new toilet block.

There are paper copies in Adams, Crediton Library, and Redlands surgery, which can be returned to CTC (through the letter box at Manor Office, North Street).

More information on costings can be found on the survey, which closes at midnight on Sunday, July 26.

CTC is keen to hear views from residents, but especially those who pay their precept in a Crediton town postcode (you will find this on your council tax bill).

You can also be entered into a prize draw to win one of three £50 vouchers, which can be spent in an independent shop in Crediton, if you provide your email address.

This prize draw is only open to CTC precept payers, and proof of this will be requested should you be a winner!

Town Mayor Steve Huxtable said: “I love Newcombes Meadow, and the decision as to whether we replace the paddling pool with another paddling pool or a splash pad, or indeed remove it, is a very important one.

“The decision will not be taken lightly. It is important that we understand the views of as many residents as possible and encourage you all to complete the survey”.
