THE big Christmas Tree next to the High Altar at Crediton Parish Church has been lit to convey the message of “Comfort and Joy” to all who visit the church.

The church is open at various times for people to go along and see the tree and details of when it is open can be found on the website at: www.creditonparishchurch.org.uk .

The church held an open day on December 5 when visitors could view the tree, light a candle and make purchases from the church shop.

Family carol services were held on Saturday and Sunday, December 5 and 6.

Visitors were also able to view the pew end garlands made by junior choristers, Judy Borrow and Sister Act and Stella Stephens.

Sarah Pressland was thanked for making the images of Mary, Joseph and Jesus which now adorn the church entrance.
