THE inspirational Crediton Town Council chairman, Frank Letch, the Mayor of Crediton, who was born without arms, showed Queen Elizabeth’s Year 8 students how he doesn’t let his disability hold him back.
Frank visited QE school on behalf of Reach, a charity for children with upper limb deficiency.
He spoke to students about his life as part of the Year 8’s weekly Personal Development Programme (PDP). This PDP session’s theme was "resilience" and Frank was the perfect person to speak about this as he has overcome many obstacles throughout his life.
Due to his disability, Frank has to do everything with his mouth, feet and shoulders.
The students were fascinated and asked many questions as he demonstrated how he carries out day-to-day tasks.
His talk was inspiring and the students were fascinated by Frank’s stories of how he adapts to everyday life.
He spoke about his accomplishments, such as being a teacher, a judge and the Mayor of Crediton - he showed the students that they can have a successful life no matter what their circumstance.
