AS there is no information available within the town concerning the very much missed post box in Market Street, I have spoken with Royal Mail, Glasgow and the outcome is:

“We are looking at placing one on the footpath by the Post Office and have to wait for clearance from the Council, between four to eight weeks.”

At the Crediton full council meeting on January 19, 2016, it was recommended that there was no objection to an ATM at 7 Market Street PROVIDED THERE IS NO INTERRUPTION TO THE POST BOX SERVICE.

The matter now rests with Mid Devon District Council.
