CREDITON Library will be playing host to three popular authors on Saturday, April 23, between 2pm and 5pm, in an event to celebrate World Book Night.

Delivered via Zoom, so that people can attend from anywhere, there will be three presentations with a chance to participate in a Question and Answer session with each author at the end of their talk.

Talking about their books and work will be Louise Fein, Gabriella Braun and Victoria Scott.

Louise writes 20th century historical fiction, based around unheard voices, or from unusual perspectives.

Her debut novel, “People Like Us” is set in 1930s Leipzig.

The book was shortlisted for the RSL Christopher Bland Prize 2021 and the RNA Historical Novel of the Year Award, 2021.

Louise’s second novel, “The Hidden Child” is centred around the eugenics movement in 1920s England and America.

It is a Globe and Mail bestseller in Canada.

Gabriella’s recently published debut book “All That We Are: Uncovering the Hidden Truths Behind our Behaviour at Work” is a Guardian Bookshop “One to Watch” and FT Business Book for February.

Victoria Scott has been a journalist for longer than she wants to acknowledge, working for a wide variety of outlets including the “BBC”, “Al Jazeera”, “Time Out” and “The Telegraph”.

She lives on a Thames island with her husband and two children and a cat called Alice, and when she’s not writing she’s a university lecturer, freelance journalist and copywriter.

Victoria Scott’s first novel, “Patience”, was the Booksellers Association Book of the Month and LoveReading Debut of the Month. Her second novel, “Grace”, will be published on July 7.

Tickets for the event are free, or by “pay what you like” donation if you wish to support the work of the library in organising events such as this in the future.
