LONG-SERVING Crediton businesswoman Jan Thresher treated her staff to a day out in London to mark her 70th birthday.

The staff at Kezia’s hair salon, her two daughter-in-laws and her granddaughter, 10 in total, travelled by train to London before some shopping at Fortnum and Mason.

The afternoon included tea at The Ritz, where the party enjoyed a fabulous high tea.

One of the staff commented: “We had a fantastic tea with a selection of sandwiches, scones, pastries and any type of tea that you wanted.

“We really appreciated Jan treating us and wish her a very happy birthday.”

Jan said: “It was a wonderful day out.

“I was presented with a 60+10 banner on the train and everyone sang ‘Happy Birthday.”

“I would like to thank them all for making my day so enjoyable.”
