CREDITON has been treated "shabbily" by Devon County Council concerning the latest plans for a link road for the town it was overwhelmingly agreed at the last meeting of the Crediton Traffic Action Group (CTAG).

Acting secretary, Judi Binks, said that more than 35 people attended the last meeting of the group, at which there was a "vigorous yet constructive discussion."

She told the Courier: "It was overwhelmingly agreed that Crediton has been treated very shabbily by the latest developments and proposals for a new Western route, which seems to have emerged from meetings between certain interested parties subsequent to the completion of the normal consultation and planning process, to which the general public of Crediton had no access."
