VOLUNTEERS from [CUT!], Crediton Urban Taskforce took part in another day of action in East Street in Crediton on Saturday, September 13.

The volunteers did a great job, pavements cleared of weeds and walls, litter picked up and everything swept clean and tidy.

[CUT!] is a volunteer-led initiative that was brought forward by members of the community and supported by Crediton Town Council, which is grateful for the volunteers efforts.

Weeding is a non-statutory service that was once provided by Mid Devon District Council but that service was withdrawn.

One of the volunteers, Crediton Mayor Steve Huxtable, said: “Around a dozen local residents participated on a bright morning, managing to get finished and packed away before the rain came!”

He added: “The next outing will be on Saturday, October 11 (tomorrow) at 10am – please come to join us at George Hill.”
