CONSERVATIVE MP for Central Devon Sir Mel Stride has paid a visit to Sticklepath to see how non-profit The Filo Project supports people with dementia.

Founded in 2014, The Filo Project provides small-group care days for people with early to moderate dementia, who have suffered a stroke, or have Parkinson's or sensory loss.

It trains people to host clients in their own homes for a relaxed day of company and activity.

Visiting one such home in Sticklepath, Sir Mel met co-founder Libby Price, host Julia, and several clients and heard about the project's growing impact across the area.

“The Filo Project is delivering compassionate, innovative support that strengthens our community,” said Sir Mel.

“I was delighted to visit and will continue to back their important work.”
