Please take donations to Crediton Congregational Church between those times.
Items currently needed include good quality winter shoes and clothes for all genders and ages, toiletries, vegetarian/halal non-perishable foods such as tinned veg, fruit, pulses, tea, coffee, sugar, oil, tinned fish etc.
Also required are nappies, wipes, nappy cream, hats, gloves, scarves for all, sleeping bags and blankets, as well as single bed covers.
Goods will be packed into boxes by volunteers who will be welcomed on the day.
The items will be driven to RAFT (Refugee Aid from Taunton) that afternoon, and from there will go to Syria.
Refugees Welcome in Crediton member Laura Conyngham said: “We are ashamed about the length of time it is taking to bring even one Syrian refugee family to Crediton.
“As landlords in Bradninch and other Mid Devon towns speak respectfully about their refugee tenants and offer shared experiences with interested landlords, we ask landlords of houses or flats to rent, with their own access, to please speak up to us and to Mid Devon District Council.”
