ARTIST printmaker Simon Ripley will be showing his prints as part of Devon Open Studios, where artists open their studios and homes across the county to showcase their work to the public.

His studio opening times will be 11am to 6pm on September 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, 24 and 25.
Simon makes large scale, hand-made prints on Japanese paper.
Each piece is unique. His work is bright and colourful and largely abstract.
He is a Director at Exeter’s Double Elephant Print Workshop where he mostly works on outreach printmaking projects in the community.
Simon has recently worked with dementia patients at Franklyn Hospital, Exeter and he is currently involved in an arts project to combat male suicide in the Torbay area.
The community and arts in health and education work informs the designs in Simon’s prints.
Last year Simon was resident with Flatbed Press in Austin, Texas - he made new work - mono prints and etchings some of which are on display during the show.
Simon makes his work on a large cast iron Columbian Press, one of the first iron presses ever made and produced in large numbers across the world. The press can be seen in action in the garden studio.
