AIR Cadet Toby Hatchell, from 2469 (Crediton) Detached Flight obtained his Wings after completing a recent week-long course at RAF Cranwell, Lincolnshire.

Toby successfully beat off strong competition  from more than 800 Cadets and  25 units within Devon and Somerset to be offered the scholarship  opportunity with 644 Volunteer Gliding Squadron and although the week started slowly with poor weather hanging over RAF Cranwell, Toby kept his spirits up and completed the course with a final solo flight to ensure he was awarded his Gliding Wings.
