SANDFORD School has benefitted from funds raised from the annual Sandford Craft Fair to go towards creative art activities for the children.

Recent events have included theatre visits from “Theatre Alibi” which most recently came to the school and performed its interactive show “The Parcel”.

Last week pupils in our year one and two class took part in a printing workshop run by Rosie from Double Elephant Print Workshop.

Children used leaves, ink and a print press to create artwork linked to their printing art topic this term, and created some beautiful pictures.

Our KS2 children have been working with local artist Helen Hamilton, who is also a parent at Sandford School.

To link with this terms topic of “Space”, the children looked at the difference in star constellations in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

Helen taught them techniques on how to spray watercolour paints to create starry skies, before creating their own constellations using stitching.
