SINCE the demise of the Devon County Council Mobile Library Van Service to Morchard Bishop, a Village Book Swap, housed in the Memorial Hall has proved very popular; likewise the tea, coffee and cakes also on offer.

The new library received £300 from Devon Libraries for shelving, others kindly donated by Marilyn Daw, and it has a wide range of genres for all ages and even recently published titles.

There is a good range of children’s books and even jigsaws for adults to borrow free-of-charge.

The stock of books is rotated to keep it fresh, the Book Swap is run by Hilary Jones, Jo Eames and Carol Hutchings.

It is held on the first Wednesday of every month from 3pm to 4.30pm.
