A CRAFTS and Tea event for the charity Motor Neurone Dis- ease Association (MNDA)will be held at Landscore Primary School Hall, Crediton on, Sat- urday, November 29, from 2pm to 4.30pm.

There will be a Body Shop stall, hand-made jewellery, drift wood creations, and Wax and Relax will be offering mini manicures etc.

There will be a children's sweets and "loomies" stall, "The Home Kitchen" festive goodies, Christmas decora- tions, a raffle and refreshments including home-made cakes and biscuits.

The event will be held in memory of Michael Keenor, who died in March (a month after his 70th birthday) from Motor Neurone Disease, about which his family knew very little.

He was diagnosed 13 months before he died, but had symp- toms well before that and sud- denly collapsed one evening.

The family were all huge- ly supported by the Exeter and East Devon branch of the MNDA.

Michael lived in and around Crediton all his life and was married to Hilary Keenor for almost 48 years.

He played skittles with a lo- cal team in Sandford, and loved to walk, cook, travel, and help people. He is remembered as a very kind and generous man.

The social media craze, the "Ice Bucket Challenge" generat- ed awareness and funding at an unprecedented level for MNDA and Michael's family wanted to follow on and do something in their dad's memory.

They decided to run a crafts and afternoon tea event to raise some money for the local branch of the MNDA.

The event is being well- supported by local businesses who are providing prizes for the raffle that will be held on the day.

The family are open to more offers of support, donations or sponsors for the event.
