Rebecca Belcher, a community nurse in the Crediton area, enjoys creating beautiful paintings in acrylic and many of these and prints are on display.
Rebecca was born in Devon, previously having lived at Tedburn St Mary, before completing her nursing degree in Cardiff.
She explained: “I am inspired by the amazing countryside around me here in Mid Devon.
“As a child I used to wonder why we would go to other places on holiday, as Devon is so beautiful!
“I studied art at GCSE level at Queen Elizabeth’s Community College and gained an A grade in 2000.
“Since then I have focused on my nursing career and growing a family of my own.
“Painting with my children and moving to Colebrooke in 2015 inspired me to create this collection of artwork.
“It brings me great joy to capture the natural wonders of the South West and even more so that people like my work.
“One of my paintings, ‘At the bottom of the Garden’ was recently printed in the ‘Devon Life’ magazine as an entry in the Landscape Artist of the Year competition.”
The exhibition space at Crediton Library is booked for many exhibitions but is available for the months of May, July and December. Bookings should be made at Crediton Library.
The policy can be viewed on the Libraries Unlimited website and a commission is charged for works sold.
