IN April CODS, Crediton’s Amateur Dramatic Society, presented the musical “The Sound of Music” at Queen Elizabeth’s School’s Barnfield Campus hall.

The talented cast always attract huge crowds to performances each year and this year was no different with nearly every performance a sell-out.

Audiences left performances full of praise and generously made donations in buckets in aid of the Society’s charity, which is currently the Devon Air Ambulance.

Last week, prior to the Society’s annual meeting, a bumper cheque, to the sum of £1,700, was presented to the charity’s local representative, John Groves by Carolyn Stoyle, CODS president and Heather Barlow, CODS member, who tragically lost her husband Chris in a serious road accident in May 2021.

Chris had been a CODS member for more than 20 years and that was where he met Heather.

Chris was assisted at the scene of the road accident by paramedics from a Devon Air Ambulance and CODS has supported the charity since that time.

John Groves spoke about the valuable work the charity undertakes across the county.

He thanked the Society members and said that the money would make a real difference in keeping the two Devon Air Ambulances flying.
