NOVEMBER 11, 1918. A date that brought relief, celebration, sadness and many other emotions to a generation of people. Still remembered with reverence 100 years later.
For its October production this year CODS (Crediton Operatic and Dramatic Society) is proposing to mark this occasion through storytelling, drama and music.
We are hoping to remember those days 100 years ago through the eyes of those who were there in Crediton and its surrounding villages at that momentous time.
BUT WE WOULD LIKE YOUR HELP. We have some stories, we have a script and we have a collection of songs.
They are all ready to be performed in a presentation recalling those significant days at the end of the war, under the title The Men Who Marched Away.
The starting point for this production will be an introductory workshop session in the Old Town Hall at 7.30pm on Monday, June 11.
If you would like to be a part of this production, if you would like to help us sing the songs and tell the story of Crediton folk during those historic days, please come along and join us. We would love to see you.
