THE group co-operating with Co-Cars of Exeter to bring a co-cars scheme and rapid charging points for electric cars to the Crediton area would like to hear from communities that are interested in Rapid Charging locations near them.

The group is in discussion with Rapid Charging Exeter (https://rapidchargingexeter.co.uk/about-us ), which is rolling out on-street, rapid electric vehicle chargers across Exeter.

Powered by renewables, the chargers can pump in 75 miles of charge in just 30 minutes.?Due to high levels of interest, Rapid Charging Exeter is now also looking for locations in East Devon, Mid Devon and Teignbridge, plus more in Exeter.

Rapid Charging Exeter hubs comprise of two chargers and two battery units, enabling up to four electric cars to charge at the same time.

Gerald Conygham from the Crediton group, said: "As electric cars becomes the norm on our streets, having a local rapid charging point will become an important neighbourhood amenity.

"This network will help our communities become greener with reduced emissions and cleaner air for all."

He continued: "A partnership with Co Cars car club means that charger locations can also include a shared electric Co Car. These can be hired by the hour, day or week, making electric cars affordable for everyone.?"We are keen to hear from communities that are interested in Rapid Charging locations near them.

"This short survey aims to capture their thoughts and interest: https://research.typeform.com/to/J0oFPfTT ."

Mr Conygham said he hoped that the survey could be circulated to reach as many people as possible.

He added that the results will be shared with Devon County Council and other local authorities alongside the Rapid Charging Exeter team.
