A WORLD’S Biggest Coffee Morning, held at Clifford Gardens in Crediton, raised £176.50 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Organised by Sue Sweeney the event was well attended by residents of Clifford Gardens and the nearby bungalows at Newcombes.

Sue said: “People were very generous especially when you consider what’s happening in the country at the moment.

“One lady made some mince pies for the event and my husband, Ray helped me to make chocolate and vanilla cupcakes and a lemon sponge.

“We charged £1 for coffee and cake and £1 for the raffle.

“We also had £40 of donations from people who couldn’t make it on the day and people donated lots of raffle prizes.

”People also bought any cakes that were left over.

“Thank you to everyone who helped and supported the event especially to Glynis who did the refreshments.

Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning has so far raised £3,400,340 which could help to fund 63 Macmillan nurses for a year.
