CLEAVE Collins of Spreyton, who will be taking part in the Men’s Walk for Hospiscare on March 12, raised £230 in donations from those at Tuesday’s Luncheon Club, held at the Waie Inn, Zeal Monachorum.
The eight mile circular walk starts and ends at Exeter’s Double Locks.
Last year Cleave was unable to do the walk due to a leg problem but in 2014 he raised £1,500. This year he is walking in memory of his late wife, Eve, who sadly died last year after a long battle with cancer and hopes to top the 2014 amount.
Cleave, who is a keen gardener, also raised £450 for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust by selling bunches of his sweet peas and dahlias. In 2014 his bunches of flowers raised £430, again for DAAT.
He says that both Hospiscare and DAAT do such good work they deserve all the help they can get.
He thanked everyone at the luncheon club for their generous sponsorship.
