CREDITON International Social Cultural Organisation (CISCO) raised £200 by selling food at its stall at Crediton Food Festival on Sunday, June 18.

Petya Nikolova cooked three traditional Bulgarian dishes: Moussaka, Shopski salad and Banitsa (delicious cheesy pie) and all three were very popular.

Midori cooked Japanese croquettes, so delicious that they were sold almost immediately! The same happened with Latvian Chocolate Cake cooked by Inese.

CISCO representative, Natalia Letch, added: “There was a huge selection of Polish cakes, which were ever so popular.

“People were eating them for the dessert and taking some away to enjoy at home. The successful cooks were Ewa, Kinga and Maggie with her wonderful Mum.

“Spanish omelette, from Maria, came just in time. A lot of people enjoyed it, particularly those on a gluten-free diet.

“There were Russian Piroshki, by Elena, and gluten and dairy-free beautiful English Sponge cake, by Alex (both volunteer English teachers).

“The most wonderful food was given by our friend Andreea: she cooked baked beans and smoked sausages stew, traditional in Romania, and a lot of delicious tarts and cakes. Andreea’s and Maggie’s daughters (primary school girls) were among our helpers which added a special joy to the event!

“A special Big Thank You to Alex Koryakin, who helped to install CISCO’s display, carrying in and out our heavy equipment, and for Klaudia, who used her designer-skill to arrange our stall.

“A Big Thank You to all those who took part and to the helpers as well as the very kind customers and Crediton’s wonderful community, in particular for those who worked hard to organise the event!

“We raised £200 for Free English Lessons in Crediton!”
