YET again the Free English Lessons in Crediton are being organised to help migrant workers and their families to break language barriers and build strong relations with the host community.

The new school year starts with a tester lesson on Wednesday, September 9 at 7pm in the Crediton Fire Station meeting room.

Natalia Letch, spokesperson for CISCO (Crediton International Social and Cultural Organisation) said: “We hope to see a lot of new students. Our wonderful volunteer teachers are ready to meet new pupils.”

Regular lessons start on Wednesday, September 16 and run every Wednesday from 7pm to 8.30pm and every Thursday from 10am to 11.30am, during school term times. Natalia continued: “We have three different classes on Wednesday and Thursday so the students have a choice of three different levels of knowledge and two different sessions. They can choose evening or morning classes, or both.”

The community school is organised by CISCO and supported by local Authorities. The service has been running for three years.  Natalia added: “We are teaching not only English but also to understand British culture and traditions, to make more friends and build up self-confidence.

“Please help us to spread the information in Crediton and the surrounding area. We welcome new students and new volunteer teachers.” For more information please contact Natalia on telephone 01363 775739 or simply go along to the meeting at the Fire Station on September 9.
