WHILE it is uncertain whether there will be illuminated Christmas trees lining the road through Crediton this year, the stars will be shining.

On Sunday two members of the Rotary Club of Crediton Boniface, Paul Fallon and Fred Oliver, were hard at work putting up the stars ready for connection to an electricity supply so that they can shine again this year.

Altogether there will be almost 30 stars which, with the overhead lights, will give a good festive look to the town.

Two people were able to put up the stars and stay separate. The trees need two teams of four people, not easy to keep the correct distance.

Crediton Town Council said it would continue to monitor the situation as regards the trees and can only wait for Government guidelines.
