CREDITON Arts Centre will be presenting its take on the Russian folk tale “Baba Yaga” as part of the Christmas in Crediton festivities on Saturday December 12 in the Town Square.
The story tells of a young girl, Maroosia, and her encounter with the witch Baba Yaga, and features live music by James Cookson and Paul Whittall.
The play is written and directed by Peter Hamilton, whose piece “Fearless Jack” was performed in the Square in September as part of Share in the Square.
Like the previous play, this new piece features large puppets, in the form of a sympathetic cat and a murder of crows.
The play will be performed at 2pm and 4pm, and spaces on the picnic benches can be booked by telephoning the Arts Centre on 01363 773260 or emailing: [email protected] .
Music in between the performances will be provided by Pete Mathews, “The Wee Free Men” and “The Triffles”.
The performances are made possible by the generous support of the Crediton Town Council Christmas in Crediton Committee.
