HUNDREDS of people filled Crediton’s Town Square on Thursday, December 20, when Crediton Town Band hosted its annual Christmas Carols in the Square.

Local BBC weather presenter Dan Downs announced each Christmas carol and provided humorous commentary, Christmas cracker jokes and tales about the weather.

Dan also gave a weather forecast in the Devonshire dialect and fortunately for him, the weather was fine for the evening.

The Rotary Club of Crediton Boniface sold a selection of food and the Three Little Pigs served Mulled Wine.

Representatives from a variety of choirs took part to help boost the singing.

It proved to be a really fantastic festive occasion, with everyone singing along to the carols.

Band members looked festive in Santa hats and everyone admired the Christmas in Crediton committee big tree and lights around the Town Square.

A collection was taken for Age Concern Crediton and Lesley Rogers signed the speeches and carols.
