CREDITON Library reopened on Monday, January 18 for “Choose and Collect” as a lifeline service.

Lifeline library services are offered by appointment only and customers will need to get in touch via email or telephone in order to book a collection time.

Reservations are free until March 31, using a library card and PIN at Devon Libraries: www.devonlibraries.org.uk/web/arena . Alternatively contact the Library at: [email protected] or telephone 01363 772578 and ask us for specific titles or for staff to find a selection of books for you such as topic books for a primary school child.

The lifeline library services are COVID secure and contactless.

Sue Lee, Crediton Library Supervisor said: “Staff will pre-issue the books to the customer’s ticket, label them and put them ready for collection at the booked time on a table inside the library entrance.

“Books can also be returned at that time. They will be placed into quarantine for 72 hours before being removed from library tickets and put back into circulation.

“We encourage you to book at a time when you’re leaving your home for other essential reasons such as collecting your shopping or taking exercise to avoid unnecessary trips out. Books are being automatically renewed during this lockdown period so there is no need to visit the library for the purpose of returning books.
