INSTEAD of a formal meeting in July members of Cheriton Fitzpaine Garden Club shared cars to go to the High Garden in Kenton, where Chris Britten and his wife Sharon have created a Plant Nursery set in a beautiful garden.

Chris and Sharon formerly lived at Withleigh and were known to some of the members.

The garden had been created from a former nursery in six years - a fantastic achievement! At the end of the visit we all enjoyed a cream tea, proceeds of which went to charity, before staggering to our cars laden with plant purchases.

Our Annual Show takes place on Saturday, August 5 at 2.30pm in and around the Parish Hall. There will be a Flower Arranging Workshop in the Methodist Hall at 2pm on Thursday, August 3, when any adult or child wanting advice or guidance regarding their entry is invited to go along.
