TIME may have stood still in Crediton for a while but there is hope that it will start moving again within the next month or so.

The Town Clock, placed on the Old Town Hall and visible from each side of Crediton High Street has not worked for some months.

Erected to commemorate the Millennium, and now 25 years old, Crediton Town Council (CTC) says it has been working hard behind the scenes to get this small but important job moving.

It said: “After chasing quotes (big thanks to CTC Administrator Emily for her persistence) we’ve finally secured a contractor and arranged a cherry picker.

“The catch, They can only come when they’re in the area so we’re pencilled in for end of January/early February.”
