THIS year’s Cheriton Fitzpaine Carnival promises fun for all the family on Saturday, July 16.

The procession will start at 7pm and make its way through the village.

Judging of floats and walking entries will take place from 6pm.

Many village organisations and businesses will be entering floats or walkers in the parade.

Entry forms are available from Cheriton Fitzpaine Post Office.

The procession is always colourful with many people in fancy dress or costume and many of the floats are amusing and raise a smile.

Most people watch the procession in the village, where there will be food and drink available and a disco in the square at the Half Moon crossroads after the procession.

Carnival royalty will be on the leading float with attendants.

Profits from the carnival, which is held every other year, go to village organisations.
