CHERITON Fitzpaine Brownies had an unusual project for their Thinking Day this year. Lesley Rogers, who is proficient in British Sign Language, taught the girls how to sign to the Cliff Richard song Millennium Prayer.

Lesley, who lives in the village, asked the girls to think about the meaning of the words of the Lord’s Prayer and how best to communicate it to deaf people.

The Brownies attended a Parade Service in the Methodist Church and signed the song for the congregation. They have been asked to repeat their performance in a school assembly.
